Permits in Tempe

In Tempe, remodeling work is reviewed and inspected by the City's Building Safety Division (480-350-8341). Moving plumbing or gas lines, adding circuits or removing walls usually means a permit and inspections, and we handle that paperwork as part of the job.

Tempe has also offered a Residential Building Fee Rebate Program that refunds building safety fees on eligible alterations to single-family homes more than 20 years old, including plumbing and electrical work, when the project passes final inspection within a year. Ask the Building Safety Division whether it applies to your home.
